How We Saved Thousands For Julie’s Mom’s Estate

While in escrow on the sale of her mom’s home, we received an urgent call from the buyer’s agent. She shared that water was coming out of the washer; causing water damage to the laundry room and the adjacent bedroom.

We immediately had the water turned off and contacted administrator Julie for permission to quickly hire a plumber and a water restoration service. We met the plumber at the house and he repaired the cause of the leak, a damaged washer hose. Next the restoration company installed fans and dehumidifiers to stop more potential water damage that could lead to the dreaded “m” word (mold) and even more extensive repairs. Because of our quick action for Julie and on the estate’s behalf, the damage was relatively small.

Our quick decision to assess the situation, contact Julie for her permission to bring in professionals to avoid further damage, potentially huge repair expenses, as well as, our communication with the buyer’s agent helping them and their clients feel comfortable, was key. We avoided a delay in the escrow process and moved forward to completing the sale.
