Just a quick story to remind you how we can best help…
Marilyn’s father prepared her for the time when his battle with cancer would end. He had a living trust and Marilyn was his successor trustee. The family was willing to help her with what was needed to prepare their father’s home for sale, but they really didn’t know how much or how little they should do.
Marilyn needed answers. Should the carpet be replaced or just cleaned? Should the house be painted? Is it important to update the appliances? What about the landscaping and fence? She needed a team that could help her make the right choices to prepare the house for the best possible sale. She also wanted help with managing all those repairs and details to ready the home for sale.
We hired a painter, supervised the installation of new carpet, and scheduled a professional cleaning – including all the windows.
The house was marketed for sale and a few weeks later, Marilyn had multiple offers. After some skilled negotiating, Marilyn was pleased because she sold the childhood home for $15,000 over the list price. She was relieved the sale was relatively painless and happy that she had done her best to honor her father.
