Trustee Robert Didn’t Want to Travel

Just a quick story to remind you how I can best help….

Trustee Robert lives in Troy, New York; quite a distance away from his brother’s home in the estate. Because he was 87 years old, Robert asked his New York attorney for help. The attorney turned to a professional acquaintance in our area who recommended Robert speak with us.

Robert’s brother had passed away leaving him the house. Robert did not wish to travel and needed help with the details of selling the house and all his brother’s personal property so the estate could be settled.

We were given access to the property by the previous caregiver of Robert’s brother. The house was in a nice area but had deferred maintenance. It was also full of personal property that needed to be addressed. The first step was the personal items, and we met our buyout company at the property. A bid proposal for removing all the items including salable items, things of little worth and debris was presented to Robert for his approval. Because of its poor condition, the vacant house was then marketed “as-is” to cash investors.

As anticipated, multiple offers were received within days. We negotiated the highest price and best terms; a mere 19 days after preparing and marketing the property, it was sold!
